  Outstanding   I’ve just finished a ten day tour with India Motorcycle Touring out of Kochi in Kerala state. Riding a Royal Enfield 350 Classic, this tour quickly leaves the coast and winds up into the mountains in tea growing country, untouched wild jungle where signs say don’t feed the tigers and elephants have right of way. Spectacular scenery, winding mountain roads and comfortable hotels each night.
The route comes back to the coast through rubber tree plantations the into general agricultural and rice farming. Two nights in Alleppey allowed for a boat trip amongst the extensive fresh water lakes and rivers and an environment I had no idea existed.
IMT is administered by Shane in Australia and led by head tour guide Kuttappy who loves his country and is so pleased to show it.
A warning. This is not a tour to practice your road race or enduro skills. It is however demanding of a reasonable riding skill set. A lot of the time 40kph is a good average speed but you will not be letting your concentration lapse. Also, you are in India and it is culturally different in so many ways.
